Vessel Description

Hallberg-Rassy 46 – 2003 Top Quality cruiser ready for serious Blue Water Cruising.

EU VAT paid.

An exceptionally well-maintained and upgraded Hallberg-Rassy 46 - Build number 194 - one of the last built iconic Hallberg-Rassy 46. Fully equipped for Bluewater cruising with a doghouse, new standing rig and a new replaced deck – no Teak Deck!

Located in Portimao on the south coast of Portugal. An ideal launching point for Mediterranean, Atlantic, and the Algarve coast.

The Hallberg-Rassy 46 is one of the most popular models from the well known high-quality Swedish shipbuilder on the Swedish west coast. This is the perfect boat size for both Bluewater cruising and a comfortable life onboard. When the HR 46 was introduced, it won the “Yacht of The Year-award”, in the respected German magazine Yacht!

The center cockpit is a safety feature with everything optimally placed so that the boat can be easily sailed by one or two people. The large doghouse gives excellent protection from the elements of weather, sun and the sea.

Down below deck, the interior of the spacious areas is finished in a quality solid classic teak and light-colored fabrics. The execution of S/Y LuSea is a 3-cabin version with a double bed master cabin in the aft, a double bed guest cabin in the front and another guest cabin midship on the port side. On the port side of the salon is the navigation station and an L-shaped sofa with a foldable dining table.  On the starboard side is the well-planned galley and 2 comfortable fixed armchairs. The interior is also equipped with amenities such as air-conditioning, washing machine, an extra built-in separate refrigerator/freezer, Webastor heater and more.

S/Y LuSea has only had 2 owners and has proved itself to be the perfect boat for long-distance sailing, both in colder waters as well as in the Mediterranean Sea and the Caribbean. In the fall of 2025, she was hauled out in Portimao on the Portuguese south coast to be upgraded with a new rig and a replacement of the teak deck along with many other updates. The teak deck has been removed; all the screw holes have been epoxy treated and the deck has been gel coated and painted. All work has been done by the professional riggers and professional service companies in Portimao.

History

The first owner mainly sailed S/Y LuSea in the waters around Great Britain with some longer cruises.

The second and current owners sailed her from Great Britain along the Atlantic coast of Europe and into the Mediterranean during 2012-2016. At the end of 2016 they crossed the Atlantic and sailed the Caribbean islands, Cuba, Bahamas and the US East Coast until 2024 when they sailed back via Bermuda and The Azores to the Portugal mainland. After more than a decade of Blue Water sailing and fantastic adventures, the owners now have new projects on land and therefore have decided to sell S/Y LuSea that is perfectly ready to set sails for new adventures!

The current owners kept updating and renewing the boat as they sailed. Among the logged maintenance and updates are the following:
