Amel 54 ketch, launched in 2006, Hull # 34 is now offered for sale exclusively with DBY Boat Sales.
The Amel 54 is a very sought after quality bluewater cruising yacht that has one of the best reputations across the world for safety, comfort and speed. All of which are high on cruising couples and families wish list.
This Amel 54 is loaded with every conceivable option and even has a custom hard dodger over the cockpit which is a priceless addition.
The current owners have had 10 + years of quality world cruising, and the yacht has performed brilliantly for them, but it is the end of their journey and so JUSTINA needs a new owner.
Amel 54s have a conservative sail plan and hull shape designed for comfortable sailing while allowing good speed through the water on almost all angles. In 16 knots on the beam with choppy cross seas, the 54 logged an effortless 9 knots. Old-school cruisers will appreciate the full-skeg rudder. Because safety is Amels paramount concern, the boat has four watertight bulkheads. The 54s solid hull is laminated to the deck, which has high bulwarks and full-length stainless-steel railings for added security. 10 stainless steel cleats for tie up. A very powerful 11hp bow thruster is included for simple and carefree docking. Safety gear onboard is comprehensive as you would expect from a safety focused, conservative cruising couple. The spare parts list is extensive.
Many Amel customers are older cruising couples or families with small children, so easy operation is important. The electric furling main and genoa, electric winches, a 11hp bow thruster, and hydraulic pistons to help access storage are there to make life easy on the water. Air conditioning, 24v fans and a Webasto diesel heater keep even the nastiest conditions comfortable.
Amels characteristic steering station, behind the hard windshield and under Justinas custom hard top dodger, has push-button controls and readouts for all systems, and is super well protected from the elements.
Built-in lee cloths and large volume tankage plus a water maker, indicate that this yacht is designed for serious passagemaking. In port, the sumptuous leather-and-mahogany interior makes the 54 a queen on any dock that the built-in passerelle touches. The seaworthy galley is plumbed for a dishwasher and has 3 separate refrigeration units. Cooking is from a 4 burner stovetop and oven plus there is a back-up induction plate. Dual stainless steel sinks and corian tops. Abundant storage for cruising gear includes a cavernous lazarette. The dinghy is supported high up on sturdy davits with solar arch overhead. There is plenty of room under the dinghy to slip into the water from the transom swim platform and rinse off afterwards with the hot shower.
