Panacea V is set up for a full West Coast experience: long-distance cruising, exploring new harbors, fishing remote grounds, or welcoming family and friends in style. The Meridian 580 Pilothouse was designed as the flagship of the Meridian fleet, a yacht that combines rugged capability with the comfort and livability of a luxury motor yacht.
This particular 580 has been thoughtfully outfitted for independence on the coast, equally at ease trolling for salmon as it is entertaining guests at anchor. With generous interior volume, a commanding pilothouse, and a layout that balances privacy with social space, Panacea V delivers the flexibility and confidence to enjoy the Pacific Northwest and beyond.
Kept in a boathouse since 2020 and maintained with care, the yacht comes with an extensive inventory and is ready for new adventures. A 70-foot boathouse in Ladysmith, BC, along with a large lot of fishing equipment, are also available separately.
Salon and Galley
A stainless-framed glass sliding door opens into a salon finished in cherry joinery, wood valances, and wood plank flooring. To port is a custom sofa with two ottomans and a sidearm table, while a pair of lounge chairs with a centre cabinet table to starboard sit across a glass coffee table. Aft to starboard, the entertainment cabinet houses the 40” Smart TV, entertainment components, and an ice maker. Accordion-style privacy curtain, with port and starboard blinds.
Forward, the U-shaped galley runs along the port side, with Corian counters, double stainless sinks, and near full-sized appliances that make cooking aboard feel much like home. Opposite, a raised dinette with curved seating and Corian table offers excellent sightlines. The whole space ties together, so whether preparing meals, dining, or relaxing in the salon, everyone remains part of the same conversation.
Cockpit and Swim Platform
Stepping back out through the sliding door, the cockpit and swim platform form a versatile outdoor living and working space. Faux-teak decking runs underfoot, with a folding teak table at centre, a stainless barbecue mounted at hand, and plenty of room to set out chairs for lounging or entertaining. The area is sheltered by the hardtop, with a full canvas enclosure and an additional awning that extends aft over the swim grid, allowing the platform to be used for fishing or relaxing even in the rain.
The wide swim platform itself is fitted with custom stainless staples, with the centre section swinging open for easy boarding from a tender. The staples also carry downrigger mounts and a custom fish-cleaning tray, with 12V surface plugs conveniently located at the port and starboard transom gates, making the space well suited to coastal fishing. A cockpit shower with hot and cold water is tucked into the transom, while port and starboard gates provide access from the swim platform.
Steps rise to the side decks on both sides, and a stairway to starboard leads up to the flybridge, lifting for engine room access. Two large hatches in the sole open to the lazarette, while a storage locker on the port side and another in the transom provide space for lines, fenders, and shore power cable. With the large sliding door open, the cockpit becomes a seamless extension of the salon and galley.
Pilothouse
Three steps up from the galley, the pilothouse serves as the vessel’s command centre. A wood-rimmed wheel sits at centre with dual multifunction displays providing charts, radar, sonar, and camera views of the stern and engine room, while a separate screen is dedicated to cockpit cameras aimed at the fishing rods.
Controls for VHF, autopilot, thrusters, and other systems are grouped within easy reach, while analog gauges and the compass are positioned higher on the dash near the windshield. An adjustable captain’s chair anchors the helm, and an L-shaped settee with table provides a companion space with storage beneath. AC/DC panels flank the area for convenient systems management, and a sliding side door opens directly to the starboard deck for quick access during docking or anchoring.
Cabins and Heads
A curved stairway forward of the pilothouse leads down to the accommodations, with a laundry closet containing stacked Bosch washer and dryer at the base. The passageway opens into three private staterooms and two heads, each designed with comfort and storage for extended cruising.
• Master Stateroom – Full-beam amidships with a walk-around queen berth, abundant drawer and locker storage, cedar-lined hanging lockers, and a vanity with sink set within the cabin itself. Ensuite head with VacuFlush toilet and full shower/tub combination.
• VIP Stateroom – Forward with a queen island berth, generous storage beneath, dual cedar-lined hanging lockers, and private access to the guest head with stall shower.
• Guest Stateroom – To port with L-shaped bunks, ideal for children or additional guests, with locker storage.
• Guest Head – Accessible from the passageway and the VIP stateroom, fitted with a VacuFlush toilet, vanity, and separate stall shower.
Upper Deck
The flybridge helm forward features twin adjustable captain’s chairs, a full Raymarine suite, and excellent visibility. Wraparound seating provides space for guests, with the aft section adjusted to accommodate the tender when carried aboard. The original curved bench section, complete with canvas cover, remains with the vessel.
A wet bar with sink and a refrigerator/icemaker combo complements the space, while the davit and chocks aft handle the Walker Bay tender. The bridge is enclosed with canvas and Strata glass panels along the forward three-quarters, leaving the aft open to the breeze. A hatch at the starboard corner provides stairway access down to the cockpit.
Engine Room and Lazarette
The engine room is accessed through the cockpit stair hatch and is well lit and organized for maintenance. Twin Cummins QSM11 diesels are positioned with clear access to stainless fuel tanks, Racor filters, and the Reverso oil change system.
The lazarette lies beneath two large hatches in the cockpit sole, housing the generator, battery banks, and davit pump, along with custom stainless ladders for easy access. The space offers abundant storage with enough space to keep a deep freezer included with the vessel.
Side Decks and Foredeck
Wide side decks with tall stainless rails provide secure passage forward. The foredeck holds a dedicated anchor locker with windlass controls and washdown fittings, a sunpad area, and stainless cleats fore, aft, and amidships. Additional mounts carry two Pelican kayaks, which come with the vessel along with four dedicated kayak life jackets, making it easy to explore coves and shorelines right from the anchorage.
