2024 Jeanneau Sun Odyssey 440 'Rhythm & Blues.'
Jean-Marc Piaton and Rafael Bonet designed the Jeanneau Sun Odyssey 440. True innovation is rare in yacht design, but the new Jeanneau walk-around yachts—including the Jeanneau Sun Odyssey 440 —show revolutionary thinking that turns convention on its head. This range has a new hull design, an innovative deck plan outside, and ingenuity below. The Jeanneau Sun Odyssey 440 was Sail Magazine's Best 40-50ft Cruising Boat 2018 and European Yacht of the Year 2018 in the Family Cruiser category.
Rhythm and Blues has a spacious and luxurious interior that appeals to larger groups. The two cabins, two heads, plus a utility/workshop that includes an additional freezer and a bed conversion make this configuration very versatile. The forward master cabin has double doors to access, and when open, it exacerbates the sense of space you get forward.
The galley has a nice island with storage and works as something to brace against underway. A three-burner stove and oven, double sink, freezer, and refrigerator exist. There is additional wine bottle storage under the flooring.
Under sail, the Jeanneau Sun Odyssey 440 comes into its own with its exceptional performance. The dual rudders, double-spreader Z-spar mast, electric Harken winches, and a 125% genoa will take your sailing adventures to a new height. Under power with the Yanmar 45hp engine will enable you to easily cruise at 7 knots at 2000rpms.
On deck, the vast cockpit can comfortably seat up to 8 guests around the molded cockpit table. The uniquely designed walk-round gently slopes around both helm wheels; no more clambering over the cockpit coamings to get on deck! The coamings are now hinged, so you can fold them to make daybeds on either side. In the case of the starboard pad, it can extend to the cockpit table (with a filler cushion). The cockpit table is also offset slightly, allowing a straight walk-through passage even when one table leaves is open.
