This listing is for available hulls for 2026/2027 deliveries which can be customized.
The all-new Balance 502 advances performance voyaging with longer, leaner hulls, increased payload capacity, and the ability to carry more energy, tender weight, or cruising gear without diminishing speed. Innovation keeps on coming at Balance, and the 502 incorporates everything learned from a decade of design evolution. Her Carbon Core construction—featuring full carbon bulkheads, soles, daggerboards, trunks, partition panels, and rudders—significantly elevates stiffness, quality, and overall performance. Her sleek new hulls and contemporary window lines remain unmistakably and timelessly Balance.
The 502 introduces several major innovations. The VersaStern™ enables the aft cockpit to be secured in seconds while sailing or opened easily for docking, swimming, or tender handling. A newly designed coach top integrates molded airflow solar cavities and handholds, her stern ladder now deploys internally, and the widened salon door improves both ventilation and flow. Forward cabin airflow has been expanded with innovative custom opening ports that can be safely left open even in rain. Interior refinements include frameless cabinetry, a lounge-style salon with convertible table, and a redesigned nav station that doubles as an office with a hide-away charging station.
Top-end sailing performance has been supercharged by a newly engineered forebeam, crossbeam, and longeron, paired with a taller mast that substantially increases the J-measurement for improved light-air response and high-speed capability. With a self-tending blade jib, dual furling headsails, electric winches, and all reefing and sail handling at the helm, the 502 remains exceptionally easy to operate single- or double-handed.
The optional VersaDrive hybrid reduces fuel use by up to 25% while charging the 36 kW 48V lithium bank at up to 15 kW per engine. With as much as 3,000 W of solar, she becomes a state-of-the-art eco-adventure platform. Inside, the owner version offers 6'10" headroom, a large U-shaped galley, an expanded and luxurious master shower, abundant handcrafted storage, and a convertible salon berth for additional guests.
