"The Shannon 43 is beautiful, bullet proof and meticulously designed. An instant classic, this is the boat you want to sail across the seven seas before venturing to the world's remote anchorages." By David Liscio for Sailing
Tammie Norrie is a fantastic example of this proven, well-respected design and beautifully built yacht. With a new paint job (2023), upgraded lithium-ion battery system designed by Ocean Planet Energy and installed by Great Island Boat Yard (2023), new Garmin radar (2023), new Garmin autopilot and multifunction display (2022) and more regular maintenance and upgrades. With the exception of this winter, this Shannon 43 has always lived in New England, has been hauled out for maintenance and storage every year and presents noticeably better than other boats of similar build quality of the same vintage. This is a rare opportunity to buy a truly exceptional vessel.
Located in Brunswick, Georgia in dry storage this Shannon 43 is available to be shown by appointment.
"Top-quality methods are used to build Shannon boats and this 43-footer is no exception. The one-piece hull is hand laid up composite fiberglass with a linear PVC foam core. No balsa wood is used. The sandwich construction is completed with vinylester resin and biaxial laminates. The lead ballast is encapsulated in the hull, eliminating the need for keel bolts that could be damaged in a grounding.
The mast is stepped to the keel for strength. The hull-to-deck joint has an internal flange upon which the deck is laid and affixed with polyurethane, then through-bolted with stainless fittings accessible from below deck. There is no over abundance of teak on deck because it can add unwanted weight." ~ David Liscio review for Sailing
