"Freedom is everything to me. Not only in my personal life, but it is also the foundation of my company. I genuinely believe that the more freedom you have, the more you can be. And the more freedom you give to someone, the more you receive.
With that in mind, it makes a lot of sense that I’ve become a boat builder. Yachting
is the epitome of freedom. Being out on the water, connected with the elements, we are left to our own devices. With only one elementary choice to make: where to next? We make yachts, but in essence we create freedom.
Our speciality is in building aluminium custom sailing yachts. I am a sailor myself, but I couldn’t get the idea of developing a motor yacht out of my head. A motor yacht that would offer the same experience as unrestricted sailing. A yacht that gives you the freedom to go boating all year round, whether you want to go to the Arctics, London or the Mediterranean. Truly a go-anywhere yacht for go-anywhere people.
Together with my team and Dykstra Naval Architects, we embarked on a fantastic journey of designing a ship that would be worthy of bearing the Bestevaer name. Surely it would have to be a Bestevaer, a new addition to our family of top of the line explorer yachts.
In line with the Bestevaer design principles, we set out to create a yacht with simple aesthetics. A yacht that stands the test of time and will still look beautiful for generations to come. A vessel for memories.
The Bestevaer 53 M/Y is now here and I couldn’t be more pleased with the result. I hope it will bring you many new adventures. And of course: all the freedom in the world. It’s your journey. Where will you go next?"
