We really rate these wonderful Back Cove 29s! Built up in Maine to a very high standard, they are well-suited to UK weather, with a capable hull, excellent protection from the wheelhouse, a cosy cabin with a traditional feel, and superb decks. Paired with a rorty Yanmar six-cylinder diesel, she cruises in the low twenties and has plenty of poke when needed. Creature comforts such as heating, modern electronics (including radar), a useful bow thruster, and a holding tank make her a highly compelling choice.
RCD Status: The yacht conforms with the essential safety requirements of Directive 94/25EC or RCDII (2013/53/EU as appropriate (Recreational Craft Directive) and is categorised C – “Coastal ” for 9 persons on board.
Hull, Deck & Superstructure Construction:
- White deck with moulded non-slip deck pads in Smoke White and White superstructure.
- Moulded blue hull (painted with Blue Awlcraft 2000 by Awlgrip in 2016).
- Smoke Grey moulded anti-slip pads to decks and aft cockpit.
- Bathing platform.
- Modified deep-vee hull design with 16 degree transom deadrise and spoon bow.
- Hull constructed with lightweight multiaxial E-glass reinforcement, Divinycell foam core and vinylester resins.
- Encapsulated foam stringers.
- Wide chines for increased lift and stability, to help fast planing and a smooth ride.
- Spray rails and stainless steel rubbing strake.
- Marelon sea valves on underwater thru-hull fittings.
