SAPPHIRE II OF LONDON was the last Discovery 67 to splash and was highly spec’d for a world cruise, a feat she accomplished with her first owners. She features a Formula spar and automated rig, a designer interior, teak and holly soles, making for a great layout for family sailing and ample room for crew. Under the current ownership, she has undergone extensive updates in electronics, rig, sails, and systems. Sailing from the UK to Australia, she is now laid up and ready for new adventures. RCD Status: The yacht conforms with the essential safety requirements of Directive 94/25EC (Recreational Craft Directive) and is categorised A – “Ocean.”
Hull, Deck & Superstructure Construction:
- Hull moulding in Flag Blue inc. colour matched port lights, boot top lines in white and red, with gold cavita line.
- Coppercoat antifoul – completely redone in Vigo 2018 and recently retouched in New Zealand.
- Boat completed to meet MCA specification to meet coding for 60 miles offshore. Includes, metal through hull fittings in engine room, upgraded pipe work in engine room, upgraded sea water chest, and upgraded sea water strainers.
Keel & Rudder:
- 13,200kg (29,400lb) performance shaped lead keel with 3% antimony hardening provides a ballast ratio of 39%.
- Semi balanced large kevlar reinforced rudder.
